I think that working with Blogger was great. Is actually fun not to actually have to write a whole essay for a change. I really didn’t have any problem with the technology since I am in front of the computer most of the time. At the same time I loved the fact that we could write whatever we wanted. Sometimes I don’t like it when you have to be careful to what you are saying in a paper since sometimes Professors might not like your opinion to show so much on essays. It was so easy to write 250 words for each blog usually I am used to write a lot more. The deadlines where great we had so much time to write our opinion. I think that Blogger is the best choice I rather do blogs and not write essays. I really don’t like essays they are boring and blogs is kind of fun. I think I might do blogging on my own but I don’t promise anything even though I would to do so. It all depends about the topics that I feel like writing at a time. I think I would use like a journal or something like that.

Going Green

This is my list...kind of hard to rank this things...but here goes...

#1: Recycle: I can do that no problem...I do that in my house anyway...you know I am the annoying family member who is always checking everybody to see if they recycle or not yea that's me.

#2: Food waste: Well I can manage that too...I have a big family and a dog so that helps a lot..we don't waste really waste food and if there is food left my dog will eat it of course making sure that is not bad for him.

#3: Microwave: I am a crazy when it comes to keeping the house clean. I try to clean the house as much as I can. However I didn't know that I was actually saving energy by keeping the microwave clean...mmmmm...good to know.

#4: Tickets: hahahaha...this is funny I usually buy tickets online but not because I am thinking on the environment all the time but only because I am too lazy to go to the theater and make does long horrible lines...again I didn't know that my laziness would actually help.

#5: Books: Really hard for me to do I love reading and I love to have a big library full of books besides my whole family likes to read so basically we buy books a lot. At the same time I have my own private collection of so lovely school books since most of the time nobody will buy them including the school.

#6: Camera: I can't do that I can't only use my digital camera. I love photography to be specific black and white photography. I can't give that up is my hobby.

Finally there is no way I can make my showers shorter....that is the only thing that actually wakes me up in the morning and is relaxing I need it after a long day of school and work. Also I have curly hair I there is no way (and believe i tried) that I can take less time washing my hair..too hard... I don't think I can do that.

However something that I will like to commit is buying used books. Even though I did this before but I didn't like it because the books were not taking care of properly. But I'll try again to do that.

this is the second research paper that i read

The second research I read is from Debra:

"We must change our habits and save our reefs".

I think that the part that i like is the comparision or the explanation of the coral
"A good way to imagine a coral reef is to think of it as a busy city or community, with the buildings made of coral, and thousands of inhabitants coming and going, carrying out their business. In this sense, a coral reef is a city under the sea".

3.Find a place in the paper that you consider confusing or boring and explain why.
i think that is really interesting...

4. Does the draft acknowledge where information comes from IN THE BODY OF THE TEXT?
yes it does


5. If the draft has a fictional "human interest story,"
fictional yea when she mentions sponge bob's friend

6.Would you recommend that the writer get some help with grammar before turning in the last draft? Why? Why not?

yes it does, "As a result of this carelessness, the people of La Paz will need to find alternative ways of getting their water supply to survive and live out their normal daily lives" or at least i think that is the thesis....

2. Find an instance of what you consider an interesting or useful example, image, chart, etc. and explain why

OK what i like the best about his research paper is the interview. I think that is a great source of information and something really interesting to use.

El Diario reporter: Can you tell us your thoughts on the melting of Chacaltaya?

Celia Ramon: Many people here who live around the capital city of La Paz
depend on the glacier for their water supply. Although I don’t
really know too much about all this global warming stuff, I do
know that something terrible is happening to our environment.

El Diario reporter: How is it that you get water for daily living?

Celia Ramon: Well, the water from the glaciers flows down the mountain via
canals (rivers) and into water treatment plants which supplies my
home with fresh water. I don’t have any plumbing in my home so
my husband Pedro built a makeshift hole in the ground for water
to flow into my home.

El Diario reporter: What will you do when Chacaltaya melts completely?

Celia Ramon: My husband Pedro thinks we will need to travel almost an hour
outside of La Paz in order to get water. It would not be such a
problem if it was for drinking alone, but we need plenty of water
for the farm, for our food, for showering, washing dishes and
many other reasons like for the animals. O my God, the animals.
I almost forgot about all the animals. No, no, it’s just too much . water for my husband to travel for and bring back here to us.

El Diario reporter: So what will you do when there is finally no more water in the
rivers?

Celia Ramon: My husband says to pray that the large countries of this world
will help us smaller poor countries. He is not too sure, but he
thinks that all their technology and waste in the major contribute
to our problem.

El Diario reporter: Thank you Mrs. Ramon for your time.

Celia Ramon: Your very welcome. God bless you. Go in peace.

OK what can I talk about in this blog.......what about the thing that is making everybody or I should say mostly everybody crazy this week and days to come.......RESEARCH PAPER!!!!!.....I feel that every time somebody mentions research paper everybody goes...arghhh!!......and I totally understand. I am not going to lie this is not a walk in the park for me. I always hated doing research papers. However I should mention that I don't really mind doing this one. The reason is that is all about things that truly concern me. My topic is the contamination due to mining in my country and even though I am not living there anymore it still concerns me. If you are asking yourself WHY? well is because is my country I was born there and race there and in a way or another it hits home. I still have family in Argentina and I don't want to find out one day that they are sick or something because of the contamination when we all know that something can be done to fix the problem. Either way is really sad the fact that many people are dying and that there is people in this world that don't care about others but only about money. This is sad because money is not everything and what are they going to do with the money they make if there is no planet to "enjoy" it.

I should also mentioned that it hasn't been easy to do this research paper....all because there is a lot and believe me when I say a lot!! of information about this topic. However I'll take it like a interesting challenge and try to make it to the end the best way possible.
